Thanksgiving is upon us in the United States. This Thursday, I am headed to Charlotte with a teacher and her husband to have dinner with her family. She's definitely one of the sweetest teachers I have met.

Today is also the day we got our November checks! And the bonus, too! I'm ready to go shopping this weekend.

You can get a 10 L wastebasket made of recycled plastic for $1.44, but if it happens to be molded into the shape of a hubcap, the cost becomes $35.

EDIT: Did I say $35? I called Leith Mitsubishi in Fayetteville and they told me the cost would be around $80.

I received a rather strange piece of mail today. There it was, addressed to myself from the Selective Service System, an "independent federal agency operating with permanent authorization under the Military Selective Service Act (50 U.S.C. App. 451 et seq.)."

Male? Yes.
Between the ages of 18 and 25? Yes.

After poking around the web site, I learned that they probably got a hold of my information from the North Carolina DMV list (when I registered for a driver license), but (thankfully) I do not have to serve in the military should the need arise because I am a nonimmmigrant with a valid visa. Now I have to send documentation proving this fact. (I-94!)

I am waiting for MWSF 2006 (MacWorld San Francisco), in January. According to AppleInsider, this is the day when Steve will be up on-stage to introduce the first Intel-based Macintosh computers.

I've got some money saved up for a PowerBook, let's hope I'll still have some remaining afterwards.
